The Next Episode: the Victimisation Goes on… and on…
Louise Greentree, 23rd January 2008
In two recent articles Louise Greentree traced the actions of certain Christian women and Christian men in relation to making an unfounded complaint to the Professional Standards Unit of Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church in Australia.
The PSU abandoned prosecution of the complaint on the recommendation of the experienced lawyer after an exhaustive investigation and closed its file in October 2007.
Now a Christian organisation is carrying on the abuse and victimisation of the man against whom the unfounded complaint was made, and his wife and family, through the National Director’s rejection of offers to meet in a reconciling process, and his decision to recommend the man’s decommissioning. This is more than mere sacking, but is the same as the removal from Holy Orders of a member of the clergy, a penalty that is reserved for very grave misconduct that has been proved in a proper hearing before a Tribunal.
